But Mom and Mags are slumbering peacefully downstairs as I write this...yes we decided to go ahead a keep the little guy...and name him Magnus George. Grand Mo wasn't so happy about the Magnus part but has since caved a bit as the George part was to honor her late father.

It turns out that Mags was a little jaundiced, well more than a little jaundiced, enough so that he needed to be sent home with this funky contraption called a biliblanket. It's light therapy to help process the bilirubin and get it out of his system by way of poop (which we are now terming "Make Big" thanks to Oma). It sounds simple enough, cram a large rectangle pad up his onsie for just 22 hours a day and then make big to poop away the bad bilirubin...oh and go back to the hospital everyday and poke another hole in his heel and squeeze enough blood out to see if we have to start the process all over again. Not so fun...but it all seems worth it since in my admittedly biased opinion he is just so flippin' adorable.

Stop by the shop in a few weeks to decide for your self.

Before I forget...one last thing, I have to say a huge thanks to so many people for their support and kind wishes. There are a few I want to thank by name:

Erica, Logan, Candy and David, Connie, Jan and Steve (and whoever at Zazio's that made the garganelli possible), Linda S, Mary Ann, Susan C, My Torrent Colleagues (Domestic and Abroad).

Last but not least, thank you Mom, Kelly and I are very blessed to have you as a part of our lives.

Oops I took to long to write this...sounds like the little guy just made big... Partially because I was asked about it, and partially because you got to try this! We offer yarn dyeing here at the store, yours truly is the designer of the pattern that is published through Kalamazoo Knits. It was a little obsession of mine to try my hand at color/dyeing without all the mess and expense of the acid dyes..... If you have any desire at all, you should try this workshop. No one has ever been disappointed, almost all are surprised at how easy this technique is, and how bright the colors are versus Kool-Aid dyeing.. Check out the pics and them come dye your own sock yarn with Erica in one of her upcoming classes!

Many colors....

Let the dyeing begin...

Cook and enjoy!

Take this class!
What we have coming in... and some inspiration of color

Since we are still under construction, we regularly get the question of what are you going to carry? Well, the question should really be .......what aren't we going to carry? My question is,.... what the heck is in all these boxes?

Well, I know there is a lot of Debbie Bliss Donegal and Luxury Tweed ( new, new, new) .....which is absolutely beautiful and we should have all the colors! There is every color of Ironstone's Harmony, a lovely bulky that is soft to knit with and great to felt with. Misty Mountain sock and lace yarns, A large shipment from Classic Elite, so I'm thinking Waterlilly and a few more new things.... We couldn't wait so we dug into the Sheep Shop Yarn box.... and that was shopped! Holly B, Susan C and Pam B could not resist. I didn't even get a pick of that, how's that for crappy blogging!

Here's some new additions to the walls...

A little Ultra Alpaca, Inca Gold and Cuzco from Berocco.... then ....

A little Highlander and Temptation from Alpaca with a Twist!

Where should all this Fanny's Fingering go?

The inspiration of color you say ....... maybe the next blog!!!!

Today 20 boxes arrived at the store! Yes 20 and that wasn't including the 17 that had arrived on Friday. Xmas in July I'd say......or scream! So while we got all the Smooshy and Baby from Dream in Color opened, and there has been many a hands laid across the bags of Silk Garden/Kureyon sock yarn..... I keep thinking about those unopened boxes. Classic Elite, Ironstone, Durango Buttons, Fighead Patterns, Y2Knit patterns, and more is on the way. I'm re-imagining the floor layout...Oh the hubby will kill me as I might have to make him re-build.......

I also keep thinking of some of the new knitting folks that I met today. Thanks, Shelly, Shannon, Cindy, Cheryl and Gary for all making today a great day. I hope you'll enjoy the shop as much as I do already.

Where do I put all the baby yarn, vs the machine washable, together? Still need to build the Sock section, although I am partial to the whole store being sock related.

Going to try and sleep now, dreaming of more yarn! Yarn dreams to all!

I can't believe what we've accomplished in a week!

As I'm reviewing all these pics from the new store, it is amazing to see what has been accomplished in one week alone!
